We Head to Portland for Internationally Celebrated Craft Beer Event Brews for New Avenues!

Brews for New Avenues is hosting their 10th annual event, and this year we were lucky enough to score an invite to the sold out extravaganza!

What is Brews for New Avenues?

If you’ve never heard of Brews for New Avenues, it is an exclusive invitational and auction of some of the best beer in the world. Each year, breweries and beer lovers from across the globe travel to Portland, Oregon for the internationally recognized event. Rare brews are auctioned off ranging from $100 to thousands of dollars with proceeds benefiting at-risk homeless youth. This is an issue that affects us locally in Fresno, as well. We will be taking notes to see how we can move the needle on homelessness in our own community.

Collaborating for the Cause

We will be pouring several of our brews, including two of our holiday favorites- Pie of the Tiger Cranberry Pie Sour and Ambrosia Illa. Also on the menu is the premiere of the collaboration beer we made with our friends at Block 15 Brewing out of Corvallis, Oregon. We conjured up a delicious Belgian Farmhouse Ale with black currants that we can’t wait to share. A Belgium Farmhouse is a light and crisp traditional European style beer historically brewed around Christmas time to last year-

around. We gave ours a sweet twist!

Representing the 1%

New this year, event organizers arranged a diversity and inclusion panel highlighting the experience of black owners and brewers. Our CEO, Arthur Moye, assisted in the panel, sharing our unique experience as a black-owed brewery navigating the industry. Black owned breweries represent less than 1% of all craft breweries across the country.
